Green Swirl Sea Glass Marble Ring 1162

Green Swirl Sea Glass Marble Ring 1162

Playing "for keeps".

The cool swipe of silver punctuated with a fabulous sea glass marble.  A very special & rare type of sea glass.

Sea glass marbles started simply as marbles - a toy children have play with since Egyptian times. Initially handmade by glass craftsman, the first US mass-produced marbles were made in Akron, Ohio in 1884. Akron went on to became the marble capital America. Prior to World War II, local factories were estimated to produce a million marbles every day!

Discarded marbles made their way, as much refuse does, into the ocean. Starting in a round state, they tend to remain curved, though sometimes splitting into halves or thirds from tumbling against rocks from the force of ocean waves. Sea glass marbles are found as opaque or transparent, solid or pattered in color & design.

Hand formed and fabricated.

Hallmarked .925 sterling silver.
